Tale of two tourneys

Played two tourneys last night on VC. A $5000 gauranteed with 2200 for first. And a Satellite to the World heads up championship in Barcelona. The $5000 had about 175 runners, starting chips @ 2000. I played tight initially then as the blinds increased I began to steal. With 25 remaining I was chip leader. The blinds became huge with 13 left and therefore the tourney became a crapshoot. I eventually went out in fourth, I went all in on the button with A9c the BB call with KhQd. I was a 60% Fav. Ah well $587.
I the other tourney with 12 left from 55 everyone was playing not to lose. But with only first place getting the trip one had to take a chance. I was in 2nd place with 22500 chips, blinds were 800/ 1600
I raised to 4000 on the button with Tc5s. Only the BB called. The flop came Th 2s 5d. Woo Hoo. I flopped top two.
He checked I bet the pot
Turn brought a 7
He checked I pushed.
He called.
He turns over QQ.
He neededa 2, 7 or Q. And low and behold a Q fell...Yuck.
